ECUADOR OFFERS POLITICAL ASYLUM TO JULIAN ASSANGE

Translated from the French by Tim Gupwell.

With Great Britain suddenly threatening to invade the Ecuadorean embassy in London, methinks we will be hearing more about this one. Methinks that this might just be the famous single spark that can start a prairie fire. Methinks that we have the potential here of an Ems dispatch, of a certain assassination at Sarajevo, of a certain incident in Gulf of Tonkin.

An intuition, nothing more than a simple intuition.

  1. If the public would only understand the background information behind all the hand-wringing over the euro, perhaps that would help spark something. I doubt it will happen in the States, however, because the people have been so dumbed down and those still with the ability to think critically are marginalized dramatically.

I recommend the latest article here: http://www.counterpunch.org/ The author is Navarro and the title concerns the Euro and the reality of any problem therein. I hope it will be translated into Spanish, French and Italian at least to start a conversation on what is going on behind the official news and propaganda.

p.s. by accident, I left this comment on the French site. My apologies. Jeanette

  2. the issue at hand is the sense that we have entered a phase of exponential criminality and corruption. A slavering crook like Corzine who stole $200 million of clients’ funds can walk free. Meanwhile, a man who exposed evidence of serious war crimes is for that act so keenly wanted by US authorities that Britain has threatened to throw hundreds of years of diplomatic protocol and treaties into the trash and raid the embassy of another sovereign state to deliver him to a power that seems intent not only to criminalise him, but perhaps even to summarily execute him. The Obama administration, of course, has made a habit of summary extrajudicial executions of those that it suspects of terrorism, and the detention and prosecution of whistleblowers. And the ooze of large-scale financial corruption, rate-rigging, theft and fraud goes on unpunished.

England and Sweden are acting as the illegal policemen of the out-of-control American Empire. For anyone really paying attention to this issue, it is indeed a big red flag that shows how far we have fallen in the USA from our former understanding of the importance of journalistic free speech and free speech itself for everyone. It is comical that our media insults Putin for Pussy Riot, but then turns around and ignores the torture of Manning and acts as a helper to the gov to get its hands on Assange to either kill him or imprison him for life for having had the audacity to speak truth to power.
